The Museum of Slavonia Numismatic Department was established back in 1877 through a donation by Osijek's collector Franjo Sedlakovic featuring a collection of 2,200 coins, medals, numismatic bibliography items, and weapons. Today, the Department is among the richest of its kind in the country. Particularly significant is the collection of national medieval numismatic pieces, being the most complete museum collection of Croatian numismatic items.
