Bodies of water were first mastered by man through swimming, after which the first naval transportation means appeared. The first rafts, as well as boats and ships driven by paddles, were followed by sailboats. By the 18th century, steam engines were so advanced that they could be installed into vessels, which is how steamers developed. Further advancement in the development of marine transportation drive lead to the appearance of motor boats. Towards the middle of our century, ships have appeared running on nuclear power. |
