A model of the first artificial satellite in its actual size was manufactured in 1970 at the Belgrade Centre for Flying-Model Construction. The satellite, launched on 4 October, 1957, was shaped as a sphere with 58 cm in diameter, including four antennas for transmitting signals to the Earth. Its weight was 86.3 kg. It circled around the Earth for 93 days, having gone around it for 1,400 times, and having covered 40 million kilometers.
