Dolores Ivanuša was born in Zagreb in 1937. She took a degree from the Faculty of Philosophy, Zagreb University, art and culture history major, in 1962.
From 1964 she worked in the Museum of the Revolution of the Peoples of Croatia as curator guide of memorial museums related to the Museum of the Revolution.
From 1976 she was manager of the Fine Art collection of the 20th century in the Museum of the Revolution, the base for which was the Collection of Fine Art created during the Croatian anti-fascist resistance time. From 1981 to 1985 she was acting director. When the Museum of the Revolution as abolished, all the museum material became part of the new Croatian Historical Museum, and the work in the Art Collection was expanded in time and subject matter.
Its name was changed to the 20th Century Art Collection.
Dolores Ivanuša is the author of a number of exhibitions, the most important of which are: Art of Croatia in the NLW, 1951-1945, Warsaw, 1981; the monograph exhibition Petar Šimaga Šumski; Drawings and Watercolours (1943-1945), MRPC, 1989; Partisan Caricature, MRPC, Zagreb, 1989; Art of the Croatian Anti-Fascist Movement, CHM, Zagreb, 1994; Dimensions of a time. Jews - Artists in the Anti - Fascist Movement and Victims of the Holocaust, Gallery of the Jewish Community, Zagreb, 1996; Monopoli-Cozzana Art Colony, 1944, CHM, Zagreb, 2002; Slavko Bril 1900-1943.44 - a retrospective, Gallery of the Jewish Community, Zagreb; 2004.
Since 2003 Dolores Ivanuša has been retired.
